9 Yards

The 9 Yards program provides long term, comprehensive services to small groups of individuals getting out of prison. The program provides a variety of classes and support in prison, followed by transitional housing, case management, and employment coaching.  The program has been proven to reduce recidivism by more than 50%  Learn more here

Employment Class

The OpenDoors Employment Class provides job coaching, work-readiness assitance, and job devlepment support to people with criminal records.  Learn more here.

The OpenDoors Resource Center

Our walk-in resource center, located at 485 Plainfield Street in Providence, accepts drop-in visits from any formerly incarcerated person.  We maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive file of resources in major life areas such as housing, employment, education, medical, mental health, substance abuse, and transportation. Clients can use our telephone or computer lab to communicate with employers, family members, and probation or parole officers.  Our resource center has a full schedule of programming, ranging from job readiness to financial literacy to support groups.  We can also serve as a temporary address.  Check the monthly calendar for more info.
